This lightweight fabric is woven from a 50% ramie and 50% cotton blend, developed in a soft coffee brown tone. While ramie is not yet widely supported by formal certification systems, our ramie is grown in remote regions of our home area, where cultivation provides meaningful income opportunities for local communities. Ramie is also one of the most economical and environmentally responsible natural fibres, requiring minimal inputs and offering high yield and durability. We are encouraged to see ramie gaining recognition among Australian brands. Compared to linen, ramie can be spun to a finer yarn count without sacrificing strength, allowing for higher fabric density while maintaining excellent breathability. The result is a material that feels light, structured, and modern, a natural fibre well suited to fashion that values both performance and responsible sourcing.
Applications: Shirting, resort wear, or relaxed summer tailoring
