Have Surplus Fabric? Here’s How to Turn It Into Revenue

Rolls of surplus fabric stored on warehouse shelving, ready for resale on Circular Sourcing

Whether you’re a brand, manufacturer or mill, surplus fabric often comes with the territory. From production changes to minimum order quantities and even planned over-ordering, high-quality materials are frequently left behind, unused but full of potential.

In many cases, this surplus fabric is stockpiled in warehouses, storage units or design rooms. Over time, its value declines, and the data needed to sell it—like fibre content, weight or provenance—can become harder to locate.

But there’s a better way.

Circular Sourcing is Australia and APAC’s first industry-focused marketplace for verified surplus and designer deadstock textiles. We help businesses resell leftover fabric to those actively seeking it, including designers, students, small-scale makers and brands using surplus as part of a sustainable material strategy.

Why sell your surplus?

? Recirculate value
We estimate more than $500 million in surplus fabric is sitting unused across Australia. Selling it unlocks value, reduces liability and keeps materials in circulation.

? Support circularity
Reselling surplus helps reduce textile waste, prevents landfill, and contributes to a more circular, lower-impact supply chain.

⚙️ We make it easy
We support you through onboarding, pricing benchmarks, plus premium photography and video content. Our seller-first approach includes secure payments, streamlined admin and direct support, so you’re always in control without needing to deal with individual enquiries or price negotiations.

? Reach new audiences
Our platform connects your surplus to over 1,500 buyers. From fashion startups and upholsterers to theatre departments and emerging designers, we bring your materials into view.

We work closely with each seller to understand your textiles, recommend ideal buyers and make the process seamless. Whether you’re holding bulk rolls or short ends, if the fabric is high quality, there’s likely a buyer for it.
